Cambodia's Rubber Exports to Grow 37% in 2025
Trade data recently released by the Cambodian General Department of Customs shows that the country's rubber and rubber product exports performed strongly in 2025, increasing by 37% year-on-year to reach US$2.06 billion.
This significant growth reflects the continued rise in international demand for natural rubber, particularly in major markets such as Asia, Europe, and North America, where rubber is widely used in automobile manufacturing, medical supplies, and industrial products.
Analysts point out that the export growth also demonstrates Cambodia's increasing capabilities in rubber processing and value-added production, gradually transitioning from exporting raw materials to exporting finished and semi-finished rubber products.
The rubber industry remains a vital pillar of Cambodia's agriculture, supporting thousands of smallholder farmers and plantation workers, especially in provinces such as Kampong Cham, Kratie, Mondulkiri, and Ratanakiri.
The combined benefits of increased export volume and higher prices in 2025 have boosted farmers' incomes and incentivized further investment in plantations and processing facilities.
Government officials attribute the growth to improved planting techniques, expanded planted areas, and closer trade partnerships. Modernized processing technologies and improved international quality standards have made Cambodian rubber products more competitive in the global market.
Despite the optimistic outlook, experts warn that global price volatility and climate-related challenges remain risk factors. However, strong export growth in 2025 indicates that Cambodia's rubber industry is revitalized and its role in the country's economic development is becoming increasingly prominent.
