8th Rubber & Tire Exhibition Sets New Record for Scale
On May 15, the three-day 8th China (Guangrao) International Rubber Tire & Auto Parts Exhibition (China GRTAE—hereinafter referred to as the "Rubber & Tire Exhibition") opened at the Shandong Guangrao International Expo Center. This year's exhibition was hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the People's Government of Shandong Province; organized by the CCPIT Shandong Sub-council and the People's Government of Dongying City; and specifically executed by the People's Government of Guangrao County, the CCPIT Dongying Sub-council, and the Shandong Tire Chamber of Commerce under the China Chamber of International Commerce.
The exhibition, themed "Quality Tires, Leading the Future," features a total of seven indoor exhibition halls and one outdoor exhibition zone, attracting over 680 participating enterprises—including tire manufacturers as well as companies from the upstream and downstream sectors of the tire industry. Reportedly, as the largest specialized tire exhibition in China, this year's Rubber & Tire Exhibition has once again set a new record for scale; its total exhibition area has expanded by 1,000 square meters compared to the previous edition, reaching 43,000 square meters, while the number of participating enterprises has also increased by 30.
**Renowned Enterprises Make a Strong Showing**
It is understood that this year's exhibition is characterized by its large scale, high caliber, and strong professional focus, primarily showcasing tire products, wheel products, raw materials and manufacturing equipment, as well as rubber and tire machinery. On the exhibition floor, reporters observed that 45 of the world's top 75 tire manufacturers—including Michelin, Cheng Shin, Goodyear, Continental, Nokian Tyres (Finland), Triangle Group, and Qingdao Double Star—were actively engaging visitors through interactive exhibition booths. Furthermore, Fortune Global 500 companies such as Formosa Plastics and Sinopec, along with other renowned industry leaders—including Guangdong Juhuan, Shanghai Balance, ATS Wheels (Germany), MAK (Italy), and Kemai Chemical—utilized unique interactive methods to introduce their latest products and technologies to prospective buyers.
Held concurrently with the main event, the exhibition period also featured the 2017 China (Guangrao) International Wheel Exhibition and the 2017 China (Guangrao) International Auto Repair and Maintenance Equipment Exhibition. In addition, the event featured 18 concurrent meetings and activities, including workshops on the prevention and response to international trade disputes for Chinese enterprises; sustainable trade development under the "Belt and Road" Initiative; international industrial capacity cooperation under the "Belt and Road" Initiative; and chamber of commerce management for Asian and European nations. Other highlights included a symposium for the first batch of domestic tire enterprises implementing the "Same Line, Same Standard, Same Quality" (Three Sames) initiative, and the 2017 China (Guangrao) International Rubber Tire Industry Development Conference. Notably, the seminar on responding to trade disputes—organized jointly by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ)—as well as the seminar on the "Three Sames" initiative for the tire industry, marked the first time that national-level conferences of this caliber were held during the exhibition.
**Leveraging Industrial Strengths to Build Brands**
According to relevant officials, the rubber tire and automotive parts sectors constitute Dongying’s dominant and strategic industries. Following years of development, Dongying has established a comprehensive industrial ecosystem for tires and auto parts, evolving into China’s largest base for rubber tire R&D and manufacturing, as well as a national demonstration zone for the quality and safety of export tires. Currently, the China (Guangrao) International Rubber Tire and Auto Parts Exhibition serves as a pivotal platform for the advancement of the rubber tire industry; with its scale, caliber, and influence continuously on the rise, the event has secured a place among the world's premier trade exhibitions.
Leveraging the robust foundation of the tire industry clusters in Guangrao—and indeed across Shandong Province—the International Rubber Tire Exhibition has, since its inception in 2010, remained steadfast in its commitment to specialization, internationalization, branding, and digitalization. Today, the exhibition stands as the world's second-largest specialized tire trade show. For five consecutive years, it has been honored as one of the "Top 10 Brand Exhibitions in China" by authoritative bodies such as the China Convention and Exhibition Society. Capitalizing on the authority and influence inherent in its status as a national-level exhibition and a national demonstration zone, the event strives to elevate the standards of industry showcases, technical information exchange, and international trade cooperation platforms—thereby actively guiding the tire industry toward innovative development, enhanced product quality, and effective brand building.
